The Subtle Gift Of A Theme Song.

So in the spirit of taking baby steps, or rather creating a solid foundation for myself here, I decided to write from my comfort zone or more like writing about it. While off the top of my head writing from my comfort zone would have been to write about something sad, deep or rather disturbing for the common Man, I decided to go a bit off to what really creates the zone.
Music.
You could argue that music couldn't be a comfort zone, but I think otherwise.
Technically speaking, a comfort zone is a level at which one functions with familiarity and ease. Now that we have established a definition from a very reliable dictionary, maybe you might agree that Music can be a comfort zone.
For every phase of my life, a song is attached to it. For every experience, there is a song to drive it home.
I can never over emphasize the importance of a playlist. And by playlist I don't just mean the one you have in your phone or laptop or whatever gadget you possess, I also mean the one that plays or recurs in your head. They set the pace for every other thing you do in live. At least for me it does.
Psychologically speaking, music enhances cognitive performance, boost creativity and helps one heal.
Personally for me to write, I need my music. For me to obtain maximum focus while reading for a test or exam, I need my headphones on. It drowns out every other form of sound distraction for me, leaving a familiar protective bubble of concentration wrapped around the harmony offered by different songs.
I do this thing I call "song association".
I am not sure if this is really a thing or maybe  I just made it up( i tend to make up terms that manage to actually stick), but all I know is that it seems to explain what I do, and it sounds professional enough for me. So basically song association is ability to relate a memory to a song. Like how a human can  relate a memory to a scent or smell. (Yea it is a thing too). So in the so called song association, with every knowledge or memory you have, you have a song that acts as a cue for it. It registers unconsciously, and it can help me either by remembering a song that played while I was reading a particular thing, or vice versa.

Have you ever imagined how life would be if you had a soundtrack playing randomly like there were in movies? It would be pretty annoying believe me at first, but now really think about it.
The perfect song for just about everything but only when it is necessary. For one thing, it would help you know what someone else is thinking. Maybe not exactly, but it could help you follow up their train of thought.
Ok stay with me, let me paint you a picture. Maybe a blurry one, but a picture non the less.
Imagine it's a beautiful day and you are out on a picnic with a friend, brother, lover, anyone you wish to imagine. The sun is at its brightest, but it gave just the right amount of heat for the skin to absorb. Glorious isn't it. The wind is blowing too, causing the leaves that fell from the trees to fly about in wisps, so you just have to listen to the sounds of mother nature. It truly is a beautiful scene. There and then, the universe inserts a beautiful theme song, just to bring home the point that you are indeed having a splendid time. This song plays on, and of course the one sitting next to you can hear it too because this theme songs are synonymous to a person or group of persons sharing a particular moment. As you both enjoy this bonus to your wonderful time, the tune stops abruptly, and then at the same moment the universe quickly inserts an "ominous theme song" or maybe while you had your joyous theme song playing, you start to hear the tempo of the ominous theme song gradually grow, until it drowns out the joyous theme song completely.
Tell me it wouldn't instantly set off your fight and flight system indicating there is an impending danger.
Well Movie directors and producers understand this, that is why the soundtrack of a movie is just as important as a storyline. You might not understand the importance of a movie soundtrack, until you watch a movie without one. You can imagine how unexciting and uninspiring the plot would turn out, I hope you will never be subjected to such, but that's by the way.
Since I have brought to your attention the importance of music to me, I do not think it would make sense to have a blog that doesn't give a good highlight of my impeccable taste in music :-) Literally from every genre known to man except heavy metal ( frankly that genre is demonic and coming from me, that says alot)
With that being said or rather written, every post here will come with a song. Maybe it would be a theme song or a song I would just like to share. You could play it while you read through my words for effect or add it to your playlist for future reasons.

I look forward to sharing while I work on creating a link for already created playlists.

Until then, please permit me to be your DJ one post at a time. ( P.S I have a fetish for being a DJ)
